« The Outlaws »: British heist series gets renewed for a third season
If you’re a fan of heist shows, you’ll be happy to hear that « The Outlaws » is coming back for a third season on BBC One and Amazon. Created by Stephen Merchant (co-creator of « The Office ») and Elgin James (co-creator of « Mayans M.C. »), the show follows a group of Bristol residents who are sentenced to community service and end up getting involved with the criminal underworld. The first season of the show has already aired on ProSieben Fun in Germany.
Unfortunately, the show was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and had to halt production in early 2020. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the show was renewed for a second season before the pandemic hit. Now, fans can look forward to a third season of the show.
Inspired by Merchant’s mother’s work with a « Community Payback » program, the show features a diverse group of criminals who are tasked with repaying their debt to society by performing community service instead of paying fines or going to jail. However, when they stumble upon a bag of money, they find themselves in conflict with the gangster boss known as « The Dean » and have to risk their lives to take him down while also evading the police.
One thing to note is that the show will be losing one of its main actors, but details about who that is have not been revealed yet.
Conclusion
If you haven’t watched « The Outlaws » yet, now is the perfect time to catch up before the third season airs. With an exciting premise and talented cast, this show is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. We can’t wait to see what the creators have in store for us in the upcoming season!
